Our approach

Conducting in-depth qualitative assessments
We conduct in-depth qualitative assessments to gain a holistic perspective of each claimant (e.g. educational, occupational, family and medical histories, and educational and occupational aspirations) and the impact that the incident in question and its resultant sequelae have had on their everyday life.

Analysing relevant medico-legal and medical reports
We analyse relevant medico-legal and medical reports regarding the claimant’s pre- and post-incident functioning (i.e. physical, functional, emotional/psychosocial and cognitive/neurological).

Gathering sources of collateral
We go the extra mile to gather sources of collateral to verify and clarify the information reported by claimants during in-depth qualitative assessments (e.g. employer and industry collateral). This ensures that our medico-legal reports are based on factual information.

Writing comprehensive medico-legal reports
We write comprehensive medico-legal reports that provide an indication of each claimant’s employability and competitiveness in the South African open labour market. With input from Actuaries, we quantify and provide approximate timelines for the past loss of income and/or future loss of income as a result of the incident in question. This ensure that actuaries can accurately quantify claims with ease.

Quality assurance
We ensure superior quality and accuracy in reporting by having our medico-legal reports reviewed more than once by our Language Editor and Quality Assurer, Annick Drewnicki.
